Lebanon

Publié le par Bertrand Ricque

Today I have added to links related to Lebanon.

First of all, the official website of Fairuz, one of the greatest voices I've ever heard. It happens that Fanny's piano teacher played in her orchestra. World is small.

Second the Beiteddine palace, a gorgeous bucolic place, house of a world famous music festival.

Moonlight (2)

Publié le par Bertrand Ricque

Do you remember my previous paper about the moonlight over the sea in Alexandroupolis ? Well, during my last trip to Greece I decided to experience it again and found some improvements.

It’s even better while smoking a cigar and listening to “Moonlight shadow”.

Moonlight

Publié le par Bertrand Ricque

A late summer dinner on the side of the Egean Sea. The restaurant is located on a small cliff, 5 meters over the sea. I am alone, as often during business trips, but I have learned to enjoy these moments. The sky is clear, the moon is full and high. The moon alights everything. The Samothrakhi Island is visible as in full day light. The landscape is not black and white. There are incredible colours. I share the emotion with a lady speaking French from another table. I feel at home.

Central Asia

Publié le par Bertrand Ricque

Did you ever went to central Asia ? No. You should. From Iran to Uzbekistan or Kirghizistan the air is not the same as in our countries. The plateaus are so high that the air is lighter. The visibility is incredible. You can see the mountains at tens of kilometers. You feel you can touch them. You drive towards them but they never get closer. When you arrive in Tachkent, it's an absolute disorientation. You discover a metro in the middle of the desert. And from the center the mountains seem so close. Actually they are distant from more than 100 km. I will write another day on Uzbek music.
