Have you ever seen Sylvie Guillem dancing ? I saw her once and I could'nt refrain myself from crying.

If you want to know what is friendship between two men, you have to listen to Verdi’s Don Carlo “Dieu, tu semas dans nos âmes…”. This is the relationship I feel I have with some friends of the French Military Academy and some other friends met abroad during strange engineering projects. Trust and fidelity.

During one of my numerous trip to Greece (I am there 1 to 2 weeks per month for my job), I finally understood the voice of Maria Callas. Greece is one of the seldom countries, like Portugal and Brazil, where the music is part of the identity of the people and important element of the social activity and national identity. Live music is there a must. The Greek music has a strong enough identity to absorb other influences without getting corrupted : rap, hip-hop, rock and roll, foreign hits, everything is recycled. But you always distinctly identify the characteristics of the Greek music. The singers and musicians wherever they perform, small restaurants or dedicated stages, are always deeply connected to the audience. The Greek people lives an osmosis with its music.

Fado has always directly spoken to me. The melancholy and sadness of the Portuguese soul is transmitted by the singers. I don't particularly enjoy sadness or am found of melancholy. This music carries much more emotion than a joyful composition. It is probably the same as cinema : it is much easier to make people cry than to make them laugh. Misia is my preferred expression of Fado.
